Clothes and fabrics hold smoke and water damage more than anything else in a home, and most of them can be saved with the right process.
Fabric absorbs smoke odour and traps fine soot between its fibres. After a flood or leak it can start to grow mould within a couple of days. Washing smoke-damaged clothes at home with heat often sets the smell and stains for good.

Smoke, Soot and Water: Different Problems
Smoke and soot need deodorizing as well as cleaning, because washing alone rarely removes smoke odour. Clean water damage is mostly a drying problem if it is dealt with quickly. Sewer and flood water brings bacteria, so contaminated textiles need sanitizing and some are not worth saving. Mould stains can sometimes be removed, but heavily affected items are often written off.

Every fabric in a home needs its own process after a loss. Washable clothing and linens go through restoration laundry, delicate garments are dry cleaned, area rugs are washed and dried flat, and upholstered furniture is cleaned to its fabric code. Each item is deodorized before it comes home.
Anything that cannot be restored is photographed and listed with a researched replacement value through our non-restorable contents valuation, so your claim covers it.

Can smoke smell be removed from clothes?
In most cases, yes. Clothes need deodorizing as well as washing, and heat from a dryer before the smell is gone can set it permanently.
Should I wash smoke-damaged clothes myself?
A few lightly affected everyday items can be washed with care, but keep heat out of it and set aside anything delicate, valuable or heavily affected for professional cleaning.
Can clothes from a sewer backup be saved?
Some can be sanitized and restored; heavily contaminated porous items are often safer to replace. Document them before you decide.
Do you clean leather?
Yes. Leather goods, including saddles, are cleaned and conditioned. See our before-and-after results.

Do you offer laundry and dry cleaning?
