Restoration Dry Cleaning in Calgary

Dry cleaning for suits, wool, silk, formal wear and other delicate garments damaged by smoke, soot, water or odour after a fire or flood.

Delicate garments need more care after a loss, not less. A home wash can shrink, stain or set smoke odour in fabrics that should never get wet.

Wool, silk, cashmere and tailored garments react badly to water and heat, and smoke residue makes them harder to clean. Restoration dry cleaning removes soot and residue first, then treats the odour that standard dry cleaning can leave behind.

Calgary Contents dry cleans garments as part of your contents restoration, so delicate items are inventoried, cleaned, deodorized and returned along with the rest of your belongings.

Dry Cleaning After Smoke and Water Damage

Smoke and soot settle deep into fine fibres, and wet delicates can bleed, shrink or mildew within days. Each garment is assessed by fabric, construction and damage before cleaning, so the method matches the item.

Garments that hold odour after cleaning are deodorized with hydroxyl or ozone treatment, then pressed and bagged for return. Washable clothing goes through our laundry service instead.

  6. Pressing and return. Items are pressed, bagged and returned early or with your pack-back.

Garments That Need Extra Care

Some of the most valuable things in a closet are the hardest to clean after a loss: tailored suits, wool coats, silk, cashmere and heirloom pieces. They are assessed one at a time, cleaned with the gentlest method that will work and deodorized before they are pressed. Items that cannot be restored are documented for your claim with photos. FAQ – Restoration Dry Cleaning

Can dry cleaning remove smoke smell?

Dry cleaning removes soot and residue from delicate fabrics, and odour that remains is treated afterwards. Standard dry cleaning alone does not always remove smoke odour, which is why restoration dry cleaning includes deodorizing.

Can you clean a wedding dress or christening gown after a fire or flood?

Often, yes. Heirloom and special-occasion garments are assessed one at a time and cleaned with the gentlest method that will work. Do not wash them at home after smoke or flood exposure.

Which items need dry cleaning instead of washing?

Anything labelled dry clean only, plus most wool, silk, cashmere, tailored suits, structured coats and many drapes. We check care labels and fabric before choosing a method.

Do you clean leather and suede?

Yes. Leather and suede garments are cleaned and conditioned with specialty methods rather than standard dry cleaning.

Is dry cleaning part of my insurance claim?

When the loss is covered, cleaning your garments is usually part of the contents claim, apart from your deductible.
